The Dukes of September...More Hits than you Know

So it's not September, admittedly. We're bringing you the Dukes in August, and along with them comes an incredible slew of hits that if I were a betting man (and I am), my wager is that you don't realize how many great songs are inherent to this show.

Let's start with Donald Fagen. Many of his ardent fans of course know the talents of this man, but for the rest of you, I've got two words. Steely Dan. The musical term "fusion" may not be in existence if it wasn't for Fagen and Walter Becker's melting pot of jazz, rock, funk, R&B, and pop that spawned hits like "Do it Again," "Reeling in the Years," and "Ricki Don't Lose that Number." Your chances of finding a $50 bill on the street are probably greater than the chances of Steely Dan touring again anytime soon, so don't miss the opportunity to see one half of this iconic duo, performing his epic stable of hits as part of a live collaboration with musical giants Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs.

Next Duke of September...Mr. Michael McDonald. You can't go anywhere without hearing one of this guy's tracks produced either as a solo artist, or as front man for the Doobie Brothers. Let me just rattle off a few..."Taking it to the Streets," "What a Fool Believes," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Minute By Minute" and the list goes on and on.

Finally, the third Duke, Mr. Boz Scaggs. He's one of the D.C. area's favorite Wolf Trap performers for a reason. You know what...I digress. This Spotify playlist featuring a massive slew of hits from these three fine performers will do all the talking for me. So many songs, so little time. Don't miss the Dukes of September at Wolf Trap, this Monday, August 6th.
